How is age calculated?
Age is the number of complete years, months and days between a date of birth and a chosen date. The calculator counts whole years first, then the remaining whole months, then the leftover days, using the real length of each calendar month and counting leap years correctly. That is the same method used for school applications, insurance quotes, sports eligibility and most official forms.

How do I calculate my age from my date of birth?

Does the age calculator work for UK and US date formats?
Yes. The date picker follows your device’s regional settings, so people in the UK see day/month/year and people in the USA see month/day/year. The result is the same either way.
Can I calculate my age on a past or future date?
Yes. Change the “Age on this date” field to any date on or after your date of birth, for example a future birthday, a school cut-off date or a retirement date.
How are leap years and leap-day birthdays handled?
The calculator uses the real calendar, so leap years are counted correctly. For people born on 29 February, 1 March is treated as the birthday in non-leap years. Some US states and organisations use 28 February instead, so check the official rule if it matters.
Is my date of birth stored or sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Your date of birth is not saved, tracked or sent to a server.
